Ozark Country Endurance Riders
Welcome to the Ozark Country Endurance Riders home page. "OCER" is a regional club (MO, OK, KS, and AR) which sponsors Limited Distance (25/30 miles) and Endurance (50-100 miles) rides. These rides are also sanctioned by the American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC). NOW WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN OCER?? First, OCER is at the forefront of developing progressive regulations to protect the equine athlete. The "Fit to Continue" criteria, now in effect at all AERC rides, was first developed at OCER rides. OCER is proud of the fact that their veterinary controls are ROC and Championship Ride quality. OCER is concerned first and foremost with the health and well being of the horse. Second, you will increase your knowledge of horses and observe excellent trail etiquette. Every OCER member loves to win a ride, but most do not forget they are at a ride for a good time! Compared to other clubs, OCER members are not extremely competitive people. Not to say we don't love the third reason for joining: The Awards! OCER has the best endurance awards! We give end of the year awards for all kinds of things: Placings in weight divisions, breed awards, rider, member, and manager of the year awards, high mileage, high point, best condition champion, and even awards for just being at the convention and having ridden a ride that year! And lastly, OCER puts out an excellent newsletter to keep you informed of upcoming events, ride entries, and what's for sale. So.......JOIN!!
